Tours

Applewood is open to the public from 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday. However, organized tours are also available for visitors from out of town, special interest groups and public organizations such as Brownies, Girl Guides, Scouts, church groups and school classes. The homestead would appreciate a donation to help with the continuing upkeep and repair of the house. Please call or e-mail us to book your appointment.

Your visit will consist of a tour of the main floor rooms, the basement, and a slide presentation of the “Big Move” and restoration of the homestead. Tours can also be tailored to your group’s interest, (i.e. J.S. Woodsworth, historic buildings, pioneer life, the Shaver Family, etc.) We welcome any opportunity to increase public awareness of our facility and, especially, its history.

Visitors are also welcome to drop in and friendly, knowledgeable staff will be here to answer all your questions. If you wish to tour the house on your own, a brochure is available to guide you through the rooms.
